Hump Reduction
The characteristics of the Hook Nose are a significant hump on the dorsum and a droopy nasal tip. While the condition does not affect the functionality of the nose, this may leave rather an insidious or craftiness impression on others.
About Hump Reduction
The correction procedure entails two important parts: smoothen the nose bridge, and elevating the drooping nose tip obtain the harmonious and ideal nose shape. In order to smoothen the hump on the dorsum, the protruding portion may be shaved. In some cases silicone implants can be inserted to heighten the dorsum. The droopy tip may be corrected by modifying the nasal cartilages and by using ear cartilages. This way the nose tip is slightly inverted to create the ideal nose.

Procedure
The duration of the surgery is different for each patient. The surgery is performed under oral sedatives and local anesthesia, and the pain during surgery is minimal. Each patient will have different degree of swelling right after the surgery, but the swelling is most severe on first two days of the surgery. We recommend that a patient sleep with head at higher position using extra pillows in order to reduce swelling more quickly.
